A-tisket, A-tasket, Logan in the basket

This is one of Logan's favorite activities at the moment. He dumps everything out of his basket, and then carries it all over the house getting in and out of it along the way. What fun!

Fishies - Denver Aquarium

On Saturday we took Logan back to the Denver Aquarium to spend the afternoon, with our neighbors, and he actually liked it this time around :) I again forgot our camera, so thank you Heather for the great pics!

Looking at the BIG fish.

Still making sure mom and dad are close by, just in case :)

Watching the divers clean the tank - one of the highlights!

Best part of the day - playing in the sting ray pool...

..and actually getting to touch one!

Love this excerpt...

"Gratitude - A Way of Life"
- by Louise Hay

Thanking the Universe
"I have noticed that the Universe loves gratitude. The more grateful you are, the more goodies you get. When I say "goodies," I don't mean only material things. I mean all the people, places, and experiences that make life so wonderfully worth living.
"You know how great you feel when your life is filled with love and joy and health and creativity. This is how our lives are meant to be lived. The Universe is a generous, abundant giver, and it likes to be appreciated.
Think about how you feel when you give a friend a present. If the person looks at it and her face falls, or she says, "Oh, it's not my size, Or not my color, or I never use anything like that, or is that all there is?" then I am sure you will have little desire to ever give her a present again.
However, if her eyes dance with delight and she is pleased and thankful, then every time you see some-thing she would like, you want to give it to her, whether you actually do so or not. Gratitude brings more to be grateful about. It increases your abundant life. Lack of gratitude, or complaining, brings little to rejoice about. Complainers always find that they have little good in their life, or they do not enjoy what they do have.
The Universe always gives us what we believe we deserve.
For quite some time now, I've been accepting every compliment and every present with: "I accept with joy and pleasure and gratitude."
I have learned that the Universe loves this expression, and I constantly get the most wonderful presents."
- Louise Hay

In his shoes

Logan has a long way to go to fit into his daddy's shoes...but he is already on his way to being just as great (and looking a bit like him too, don't you think)!

Our finished basement...finally!

Yes, our basement is finished! It has been done since the first of December, and we love it! It took a little longer to finish than expected, but well worth the wait. I guess that is just how home projects work - now we know!
It is Logan's playroom where most of his toys are, and at times, Andy's guitar studio too. I think that the cats love it the most though; cozy, cool and quiet. We can't wait to put our guest room furniture down there and let our guests have their own space when they visit. Who will be first??? :)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hi everyone! We hope you had a wonderful Christmas, and are enjoying the new year so far! It has been a while since I last wrote, I guess you could say I was taking a Christmas break :) We spent Christmas at my parents in Hurst, TX. It was a good visit. We drove down this year, and it worked out great. No flat tires or tickets (although, Andy did get pulled over and was given a warning)! Christmas was great spending it with all of my family, and even a few very close friends (we consider family) were there to celebrate as well. It was Logan's first year to actually have fun opening gifts, and he did love it! He, of course, wanted everything his 4 year old cousin Tyler got, and did end up taking over the mini magna-doodle. There was good food & good company, even if a 24hour virus spread through the entire family while we were there - YUCK! A few memorable moments, we made a trip to Dallas to try out the well-known Sprinkles cupcakes, and they were yummy! Logan got his first much-needed hair cut, thank goodness for the Polar Express. Overall, a wonderful Holiday! Here are a few of my favorite pics from the holiday, but there are lots more in our album.
Blessings ~ Julia
