I love your web site. Go Barack! What a great idea to put the viral video here for all Logan lovers to see. :) We met Obama when he was campaigning for the U.S. Senate. Carl has his autograph and there was a photo of Paul shaking Obama's hand with Eileen sleeping on Paul's shoulder in the Peoria Journal Star. We definitely need to create a better future for our children. Logan is such a delightful little guy. No wonder Grandma Tina comes to visit so often. Does Logan like the snow better now?
Our Rockies trip is a go this year but we're changing the itinerary. We have to shorten it from 17 days down to 14 days to accomodate my summer schedule. Ed Stermer & I are teaching it just as a geology class this year. We're doing the route backwards: Ashfalls State Park in Nebraska (great fossil remains from the Yellowstone supervolcano blast 600,000 years ago), then the Black Hills, the Bighorn Mountains for two days, Yellowstone, and the Tetons. We're cutting out Rocky Mountain National Park b/c we can see the same glacial geology in the Tetons. Then we're swinging back through Laramie to get to I-80. Carol Frost is hoping to meet with our group if she's in town. I'd love for her to give our students a talk about Wyoming geology and her research. I'm making a presentation to our Board of Trustees in April about the field courses. Several students from last year's trip will say a few words about the impact the class made on them.
