Quotes from John Burroughs:

After a wonderful weekend, I couldn't help but think of the famous naturalist, John Burroughs, and how only he could put into words what I felt.

"Joy in the universe, and keen curiosity about it all - that has been my religion."

"I go to nature to be soothed, and healed, and to have my senses put in order."

"I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see."

Pool Boy

Logan loves to swim, but only when he can touch the bottom, so this little play pool is the best. I think though, he enjoys the freedom of getting in and out of it more.

Here is a quick video of Logan in his pool - hope you can understand him :)

Little Bunny Foo Foo...

These are the two little baby bunnies that have made their home in our front yard. They started out small enough to fit in the palm of your hand (not that I tried, although I sure wanted to), and get a little bigger each week as they eat more and more of our grass. It's too bad they aren't more efficient to where we wouldn't have to mow the grass twice a week (somebody loves fertilizer, hmm...) I want to feed them carrots and lettuce, and keep them as our yard pets for life, but Andy and our nieghbor have other ideas - bunnies multiply quickly they tell me :) Hey, the more the merrier right!

Happy Mother's Day Mom... This video is for you :)

I found this video on You Tube, and had to post it for my mom - the otter lover. This is soooo sweet.

Have you ever touched a giraffe's tongue?

This past weekend, we spent a day at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs. It was amazing! It was a beautiful day, and an even more beautiful zoo setting. It is located on the side of a mountain, and climbs ~ 120 feet. A workout indeed, but worth it. We got to feed the giraffe's, and touch their faces and tongues...crazy, but so fun! I think that was my favorite part, but Logan's was, for sure, the "choo choo" train ride he did all by himself.

Nana & Papa come to visit

This past week, my parents, Nana & Papa came to visit for a few fabulous days! The weather, the food, the outings, and the company couldn't have been better. From our trips to Kohl's for new pants :) to Ace Hardware for projects & popcorn, to Home Depot for plants & hot dogs, to the "never again" visit to the Wildlife Experience, to the cold and windy hike to the point for a dusty view, to great dinner conversations, and a day trip to Boulder, Estes, and loveland to visit great friends - all of it, a great time!! Thanks mom and dad!

Where's the buffet? Who's making the bed? Oh yeah, we're not on vacation anymore!

We made it back from our fabulous, warm, sunny vacation only to arrive at home to a beautiful snowfall :) A reality check right...vacation is over :) Andy and I did have a wonderful time on our cruise, and Logan had a great time with G-ma and G-pa Taylor. I will write more later as it is 10:30, and I am exhausted. Isn't it so ironic that we go on vacation to get away and relax, only to come home from the trip tired and with a home to get back in order. I wish it were easier to feel like we were on vacation every day :) Maybe I should work on that!!!

P.S. - I do have pictures up, but am still working on captions for all of them, in case you want to know what it is you are looking at ;) Go to "Say Cheese" to see them all.

"Bubble Baf"

Logan loves bubbles in the bath, and recently he discovered if you scoop the bubbles up and put them on your face, they stick! He loves to do this and laugh as he looks at himself in the "mirror" (the silver drain thing). He has such a good sense of humor!

Logan's Easter Pictures

OK, so I am now obsessed with the picture place that has the $9.99 deal! They take ~50 pictures, and you pick your favorite pose to use in the packet they give you, for only $9.99!! It is not easy to get good pictures, but it is worth it. Logan has grown so much in just a month. What a difference from his Valentines Day pictures. It is a good thing we got these pictures taken in his outfit because on Easter day, we gave him a pink jelly bean to eat, and since they are so chewy, he started to drool, pink, which ran down his chin and onto his outfit staining his vest before we got any pictures! Live and learn right :)

Easter weekend

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend! Ours was busy, but fun. On Saturday we started the day off with our community Easter egg hunt. We did not know what to expect, but let me just say that it took us longer to get there, than it did for Logan, and the crowd of other kids & parents, to pick up every last egg! It was an experience! Logan had more fun picking up eggs and putting them in other kids baskets!! We decided that next year we would put on our own hunt in a nearby park with the neighbors :)

On Sunday, I got up at 3:30 am to go to the sunrise service at Red Rocks Amphitheater with a neighbor. It was cold, but well worth it! What a beautiful and memorable morning! Check out those colors...AMAZING!!

After breakfast, we had Easter with Logan. We created a trail of eggs and gifts for him to pick up starting on the basement steps and ending in the basement where his basket of goodies and other gifts were. It was fun and relaxing, and Logan enjoyed all his gifts, but most of all the candy inside the eggs :)

We joined our neighbors in the afternoon for a potluck Easter dinner, and another egg hunt. It was a beautiful day, and we spent the time enjoying good food, conversation, and the wonderful sunny day!

All in all a fabulous weekend! I love Easter! We hope you enjoy all our weekend pictures in our Easter album.

Love to you all ~ Julia
