Another memorable birth :)

As many of you know already, Lyla's birth was quite an experience, as we were dealing with Logan being VERY sick at the same time!  What a week it was!  Here is the rundown of the week, and all the memorable moments.

February 9, 2009:

6:45 p.m. - Logan experiences a fever-induced seizure

7:00 p.m. - arrive at the emergency room - after x-rays, and multiple check-ups, Logan is diagnosed with possible pneumonia, and sent home with an antibiotic.

10:30 p.m. - back home to put a very sick little boy to bed, and settle down from the evening

February 10, 2009:

12:00 a.m. - after just getting into bed and relaxing, my water breaks (oh no!)

12:45 a.m. - after calling our neighbor Denise to stay with Logan, and filling her in on how sick he is, we head back to the hospital

1:00 a.m. - arrive at labor and delivery

5:38 a.m. - Lyla arrives :)

11:30 a.m. - Andy heads home to relieve Denise and take care of Logan.

4 p.m.  - Mom Harrod arrives to help!

February 11, 2009:

Logan back to Dr. for checkup, as his condition is not getting better, and is sent home with a new antibiotic, a steroid, and breathing treatments, along with pain meds at home - what a load!  Poor little guy!

February 12, 2009:

Lyla's homecoming & Logan still sick.  We all had to keep very clean, and away from Lyla as much as possible - poor little girl - so she was pretty much banned to her bedroom.  Logan wore a mask any time he was close to her, and the rest of us changed clothes or wore a gown any time we were around her - so much fun!!  We should have bought stock in Lylso wipes, and Purell hand sanitizer :)

February 13, 2009:

11:00 a.m.  - Lyla's first Dr. visit, and another check-up for Logan, as he is still not getting any better!

1:00p.m. - Lyla is sent home with a good bill of health, but Logan is put on oxygen and is sent to Children's Hospital due to his very low blood oxygen levels :(

3:00 p.m. - Logan is admitted to Children's Hospital

10:30 p.m. - Mom Taylor arrives to help with Dad and Logan at hospital!

February 14, 2009:

Mom and Nana spend the day cleaning the entire house while Dad and Mamaw keep Logan busy at the hospital, and sterilize all the toys and books they are bringing home!

4:00 p.m. - Logan is diagnosed with RSV, and is discharged from the hospital as his oxygen levels are stable, but is kept on low oxygen until his check-up on Monday :( 

February 16, 2009:

Logan goes to the Dr. for a check-up, and looks much better!  He is taken off oxygen, and is just kept on his antibiotic for the next week.

February 17, 2009:

Logan is doing much, much better

Mom Harrod goes home, as things settle down

Lyla comes down with a congested cough :(

February 22, 2009:

Lyla's cough gets worse, so we take her to the Dr. to get it checked out.  She is diagnosed with the possible beginnings of RSV, and to be watched over the next few days for any changes.

February 24, 2009:

Lyla goes in for her 2 week appointment, and looks great! The cough is better but not gone yet. 

Things are looking good for our kiddos, and we start to adjust to normal life :)

February 26, 2009:

Aunt Alli flies in for a visit

Mom Taylor heads home after 2 weeks 

March 1, 2009:

Aunt Alli heads home

For the first time since Lyla was born, it was just the four of us! 

March 2, 2009:

My first day alone with 2 kids :)  A bit rough, but we'll get into a routine eventually!

And that brings you up to date!!!  What a crazy, exciting, stressful, happy, sad, few weeks, and we are glad it is over, so we can enjoy our new family!  Thanks to all of you who kept us in your thoughts, were there for us if we needed, sent gifts/flowers/cards, and/or dropped off food and called or e-mailed - WE GREATLY APPRECIATED ALL OF IT!!  THANK YOU VERY MUCH!  And to our mothers...thank you isn't enough for all your help!  We could not have done it without you both flying out on a moments notice, and staying for as long as you did - xoxoxo!
